Know What Product To Avoid When Treating Acne

When you are searching for over the counter acne treating products, you’ll be spoiled for choice. The question is which product to choose from the multitude of choices available. Some are developed specifically for this purpose, and contain acne medications and substances designed to clear up your pores and reduce the chances of acne from developing.  The rest of it may simply just be your normal cleansers which are used in removing oils and dirt from the surface of your facial skin.

The question is : which product is for you? Or which product may affect your skin and worsen your condition. The soap (either in liquid or a bar of soap) is one of the most basic products used to cleanse the skin, and for some people is okay to use on acne afflicted areas. But depending on your skin type, skin sensitivity, and actual acne condition some soap may aggravate your acne condition.  To prevent such case, it is best to use a cleanser that will work under these conditions. This will help you avoid further irritation to the skin and will promote faster healing.

For those with sensitive skin, stay away from fragrant soaps, as the chemicals in them can cause breakouts.  If your skin is oily, use soaps that are virtually oil-free, as you won’t want to add up to the already oily skin of yours and may cause your pores to get clogged and may lead to an acne breakout.

The Use of Cosmetics

For cosmetics users out there, beware, some of the cosmetics can cause acne to worsen.  The chemicals in the certain type of make-ups may clog the pores and some may irritate the skin and subsequently lead to a breakout. When you are wearing make up, make a point to observe your acne condition before and after you use the makeup. If you notice that your acne is getting worse after wearing certain type of make-up, dump them. Get another type and try again.
